 The Role

The purpose of a Senior Pipeline Engineer, Simulation, is to provide a wide range of technical engineering services to customers within the oil and gas pipeline industry, specifically in the field of on-line pipeline simulation. The Senior Pipeline Engineer, Simulation, will need to interface with a wide range of disciplines within and will be responsible for working on a range of critical projects and work with clients both in the UK and internationally. Candidates with technical experience they will contribute to the development of the Practice in identifying further opportunities to deploy skills and capabilities with clients.

The Candidate

Ideally candidates will require the following traits such as being delivery focussed, highly resilient, work with pace, and have the focus and optimism to overcome obstacles and deliver commercial solutions. They should be able to deliver with accuracy and attention to detail to provide high quality output within tight project deadlines. Integrated/team working is also a main focus. Candidates should too be able to collaborate effectively across internal departments and globally to achieve swift and co-ordinated delivery of results.

Excellent overall communication skills including the ability to write clear and concise reports, translating complex data and conveying information to a wide variety of stakeholders is an extreme advantage. We are looking for someone who is able to robustly analyse and present complex solutions and recommendations to meet customer requirements, be creative and demonstrates a high level of technical expertise and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems. Significant demonstrable experience working with simulation models for hydraulic transient analysis in liquid and gas transmission pipeline systems, preferable using SPS® (Stoner Pipeline Simulator), including the integration of simulation models with SCADA systems is a must have.

Well developed IT skills including systems integration and competent use of core Microsoft office suite is a definite. An ideal candidate should also be flexible and prepared to travel both within the UK and internationally.

The Package

In return you can expect a competitive salary and benefits package, which depending on ability ranges from £40,000 to £55,000
