The Role
Included in the role will be a range of Marine, Naval and structural activities. Candidate’s main duties will be to review frame/truss structures used in the Oil Industry - ROV launch systems and marine lifting appliances. Reviewing modifications for offshore support vessels and MOU’s (mobile offshore units) will also be a responsibility, however support will be provided by other team members for new areas. Duties will also include communicating with clients on a regular basis, generating budgets and estimates for future works, and to also manage and control minor projects and jobs.
The Candidate
The candidate must be capable and willing to achieve Chartered Engineer status, they must have full knowledge of Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook. They will have technical ability and a high standard of skill in Naval Architect/ Marine Engineering. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills are a must, these will ensure the candidate can work positively and effectively as a team member within the company. An understanding of Finite Element Analysis is required, and candidates must be familiar with FEA analysis tools. Experience with use of SESAM is preferred however this is not essential. Candidates must be familiar with EU structural codes, they should have offshore experience and an understanding of inspection schemes and certification. An important aspect of the job is being able to effectively express opinion whilst being able to resolve contentious issues.
The Package
A competitive salary from £50,000 to £70,000 will be offered to the right candidate, depending on their relevant experience and qualifications. A benefits package is also included, with 25 days annual leave, a pension scheme, private medical and life insurance which includes income protection.
